Barony of Loth is a faction in Songs of Conquest. It is described as "an unholy coalition between the dead and the living, bringing death and a glorious afterlife to all who oppose them."[1]

Magic[ | ]

Arcana Arcana Sm > Destruction Destruction Sm > Order Order Sm

Loth may not have any units that produce three of the same essence like Arleon, but it does have access to a unit with Charge Essence, the Necromancer. This unit makes Arcana essence slightly edge out Destruction in availability for Loth when building for magic, which would make Arcane Storm the most accessible high-tier spell for Loth. However, the troop improvement line for Aurelian Scholars and Necromancers adds one Destruction essence to their existing one, and almost every troop in Loth produces one Destruction essence, making Fireball almost as accessible if built for, especially when using the wielder Ambertina. The most accessible high tier essence Dyad spells for Loth is Rupture, and with Loth's minor number of Order essences, a Loth player might be able to reach Rapid Fire in longer fights. If you are trying to access this spell, the Aldus wielder would be a good option. Other Dyad spells Loth would find easy to access are Strengthen Essence (which will greatly improve Necromancer essence generation), Destroy Essence, Justice, and Aegis.

Units[ | ]

Note that the upgrade cost from a base unit to an upgraded unit is always 150% of the gold difference between the two plus 100% of any non-gold resource difference (thus it will cost more in gold to upgrade a unit than it will to buy the unit already upgraded).

Strategies[ | ]

Rat Strat[ | ]

This strategy is so simple and powerful it's hard to imagine it not getting nerfed in the future. Simply start with Brother Hillar and make one to two Rat Warrens. Focus entirely on rats, grabbing whatever benefits you can for +1 Damage or +1 Health especially. With stacks of 100-200, those numbers really add up. You will end up with beefy and devastating stacks of rats, and though you will lose some most every battle, they are so cheap and replenish so fast that replacing them is nothing.

Aurelian Sanctum[ | ]

In this strategy, the best wielder will probably be Roderick. You will focus on the Aurelian Sanctum building and units. Get two stacks of Necromancers and split your Oathsingers into as many command slots as possible. Upgrade their defense stat as much as possible in the Forum of the Unseen. Oathsingers will be much more tanky than you expect. Use their musician ability every round to beef up your defense and your Necromancers' attack. Build your essence until you have the ability to use Rapid Fire. This strategy takes a while to build up and is low in power, but it is nonetheless effective especially against neutral armies.
